Dave’s has over 30 years’ experience working in hard rock underground mining across Australia and overseas. With a background in Safety Management and strong Safety values, Dave believes that Safety and Production go hand in hand.
Dave’s role includes the development and execution of the company’s business strategies to attain the goals of our shareholders and customers, ensuring the company’s Vision and Values are aligned with both shareholders and customers expectations and Industry Best Practice.
Devan Taylor | Chief Financial Officer
A CPA with over 30 years of experience in financial management and operational finance, Devan is a key player in leading the implementation of strategic initiatives, managing financial performance, and driving company growth, working closely with senior management and the operations team.
Donna Roberts | Administration & Finance Manager
Donna started the HMR business with the owners in 2008 and has been an integral part of its growth and success ever since.
Donna’s role encompasses financial control, accounts and injury management, and she leads the administrative and finance teams in their support services to all our projects. The embodiment of our Values, Donna’s business support is known across our employees, clients and suppliers alike.
Brett Johns | General Manager – Drilling
Brett brings to the business 30+ years of experience in the drilling industry, including extensive knowledge of surface and underground drilling both Australia-wide and internationally. With a proven record of planning and overseeing technical engineering-style drill holes for the mining, oil and gas industries, Brett adds value to an already strong operation. He has also held roles within major mining companies as a drilling specialist, with key responsibilities in safety and operational compliance at a global level.
With his collaborative communication approach and dedication to building a strong safe team culture, he plays an important role in HMR’s future through a continuous improvement mindset that sets the company up for operational excellence.
Nathan Ings | Senior Operations Manager
With over 20 years of experience in the drilling industry, Nathan has worked with large drilling contractors across Australia and New Zealand, bringing a wealth of knowledge in diamond drilling. He began his career in the early 2000s, starting from the ground up and progressing to his current role as Senior Operations Manager. Throughout his career, Nathan has held various positions, including training and establishing a world-class training facility. He takes pride in mentoring the next generation in the industry, believing that sharing knowledge and experience is essential for its future. Nathan fosters relationships through effective communication and transparency with clients to help them achieve their goals.
Jake Langfield | Operations Manager
With over 12 years of experience in both surface and underground drilling, Jake brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on expertise to HMR. He’s dedicated to delivering exceptional results for clients.
Whether on major mine sites or in remote exploration environments, Jake is known for his collaborative approach and builds lasting relationships leading by example to achieve outstanding results safely and efficiently.
Mick Neill | Manager Mining and Labour Hire
Mick has over 35 years experience in the mining industry and an extensive management background in Australia and internationally, across both contractor and owner-operator companies.
He applies excellent leadership qualities, focusing on safety, and fosters a positive working environment for all employees.
Above all, Mick is confident in his ability to deliver projects on time and on budget without compromising safety or the quality of work, as evidenced by his unblemished record in the industry.
Adam Caswell | Raiseboring and Shaftlining Manager
Adam brings to the business 25 years experience in the mining industry (hard rock) including over 20 years of raiseboring experience. Previously working for several contracting companies throughout Australia, Adam is a results driven, safety focused manager that adopts a relationship approach to the portfolios he manages. He also has a passion for improving safety in raiseboring operations.
Chris McGinley | SHET Superintendent
Chris is an experienced safety leader with 19 years in the drilling industry and 14 years dedicated to health, safety, environment, and training. As SHET Superintendent, Chris oversees the development and implementation of safety systems, risk management strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives. He is committed to fostering a strong safety culture through visible leadership, mentoring, and proactive incident prevention. Chris plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence and compliance across all divisions of the business.
Andy Rowan | Maintenance Manager
With 18 years in the drilling industry and 35 years in maintenance, Andy brings extensive knowledge & experience to the role. Providing support to operational sites to maintain equipment reliability, managing field and workshop technician teams and oversees scheduling and planning.
Andy is committed to the company values and ensuring that HMR’s operations run smoothly and efficiently, minimising downtime and maximising productivity for HMR and its stakeholders.
